Eberspaecher displays thermal management portfolio
24 October 2022
Eberspaecher Group is displaying its portfolio of electrical thermal management solutions at Bauma 2022 in Munich, Germany. The company’s portfolio of heating and cooling solutions provide increased comfort and safety for construction machinery including excavators and cranes.
An expansion of the company’s portfolio is the Xellstor energy management, a modular system designed to meet the growing demand for greater independence of external power supplies. Its e-connected app enables users to monitor the current battery status at all times for improved fleet management and increased operational readiness. The autonomous power supply can be used in fleet service vehicles or work trucks, as well as other mobile machinery.
Also on show at Bauma is the Battery Thermal Management System (BTMS), a vehicle-specific heat pump for both heating and cooling. Equipped with an external exchanger and PTC elements, the heat pump maximizes comfort and security with efficient use of the electric energy of the vehicle’s battery, the company said. The system can provide thermal management solutions for both the cabin and drivetrain battery.
Other electrical thermal management options featured include the:
- Falkon HVAC product family with models for both combustion engine and electrical applications;
- Fully electrical variant EHVAC providing 7.7 kW of cooling performance and heating power from 3 to 6 kW;
- Hybrid EHHVAC (electric/hybrid HVAC) with water heater, PTC elements and air conditioning for vehicles with hybrid or electric drive;
- VK9 product range for heating and cooling of the driver’s cab, and VK9 EHVAC electrical version for cooling performance of 6.5 kW and PTC elements with heating performance of 3 kW.
In addition to electrical solutions, Eberspaecher is highlighting its fuel-operated air heaters, including the Airtronic S3 Economy. Designed for construction equipment, the diesel-powered model has 12 or 24 V and provides heating performance from 0.85 to 2.2 kW, while the gasoline version is rated 12 V with a heating performance of 1 to 2 kW.
