His Majesty the King’s Medal of the 12th size is awarded to Swedish and foreign citizens for special merits, as well as to executives at the Royal Courts of Justice.

According to Engcon, Stig Engström was selected as a recipient of the award in recognition of his “significant contributions” to the country’s construction equipment industry.

Stig Engström said, “I received a letter informing me that I had been selected along with five others to be awarded HM The King’s medal of the 12th size with a bright blue ribbon and that the medal awards ceremony is planned to be carried out at a later date.”

He added, “My mission is to change the digging world to become safer and more efficient. It is therefore incredibly fun that my and Engcon’s work is noticed. It is a great honor to be awarded a medal from HM The King.”

Formerly known as the Court Medal, the prize was instituted around 1814. The face of the medal depicts the king of Sweden’s profile in relief and will be inscribed on the reverse with an inscription that describes the reason it was awarded.

Other recipients of the 2021 award will include Göran Lennmarker, a former member of the Swedish Parliament, and author and public debater Anders Wijkman.
