Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation president and CEO, Karl Deppen, has unveiled test vehicles of the forthcoming, next-generation Mitsubishi eCanter.

The event took place at the company’s Kitsuregawa Proving Ground in Tochigi, which now includes new EV-focused testing facilities.

The first eCanter was introduced in 2017, after which the model underwent a facelift in 2020. The new model is reported to offer extended range and new safety features, together with an expanded model range.

MFTBC says that the eCanter will undergo testing in excess of 1 million kilometres in advance of launch. No launch date has yet been set for the new model.
