Thanks to a new partnership, Volvo Construction Equipment’s (Volvo CE) North American dealer locations will now be able to bundle off-grid charging systems from sustainable products and technologies provider Beam Global with the purchase of Volvo CE electric equipment. Desmond Wheatley, Beam Global CEO, described the move as an opportunity for the construction industry “to future-proof its business against noise, carbon emissions regulations and volatile fossil fuel costs” through easier adoption of electric equipment.

“By providing our sustainable EV charging systems alongside Volvo’s best-in-class electric machines, we are enabling that transition in the fastest, cleanest and most scalable manner available,” he added.

Volvo CE currently offers two electric compact wheel loaders (L20 and L25 Electric) and three electric compact excavators (EC18, ECR18 and ECR25 Electric). Under the partnership, the company’s dealers can now bundle Beam Global’s EV ARC off-grid solar EV charging systems with electric machine orders. The compact, easily transportable systems are fully autonomous – generating, storing and delivering electricity independent of the grid – and can be set up and ready to use in minutes and without any need for electrical work or permitting.

“The Volvo CE line of zero-emissions construction equipment can now be charged with a zero-emissions energy source provided by the EV ARC,” said Ray Gallant, VP Product Management and Productivity at Volvo CE, noting, “The construction industry is ready for an energy transition that reduces emissions and improves machinery’s performance, longevity and usability. We’re committed to an electric future and view Beam Global as a strategic partner on this journey.”
