Terzo Power Systems, which offers compact hydraulic steering solutions for the electrification of fluid power, announced it will supply its Hydrapulse EHSU electric-hydraulic steering solution to SEA Electric, an Australian commercial eMobility company, for use in its SEA-DRIVE power system. The ruggedized EHSU model incorporates an integrated motor, controller and closed-loop feedback that has been specifically developed for mobile steering assist and e-steering applications. It is available in high- and low-voltage models, as well as a variety of pump displacements and power levels.

SEA Electric was founded in Australia in 2012 “to transform the light- and medium-duty delivery, logistics and work truck market,” noted Tony Fairweather, CEO and founder in announcing the partnership. The company launched its first commercial model in 2017 and has since deployed zero-emissions trucks, buses and vans across five continents. It provides four all-electric power system options that can be retrofit to the customer’s choice of new cab chassis from their preferred OEM supplier.

“One of the challenges of modern EV development is ensuring that all systems are as energy efficient as possible, something Terzo brings to the party,” said Fairweather. “Incorporating Terzo’s cutting-edge Hydrapulse steering units in our SEA-Drive power system will help us to continue pushing the envelope on EV performance, as well as providing ongoing world-class total cost of ownership.”

Terzo CEO and Founder Michael Terzo said the company is excited to be selected to provide SEA Electric with its flexible, compact power solutions.

“Our team of dedicated engineers has worked relentlessly to bring this technology to the market over the last eight years to provide simple, powerful and cost-effective solutions for the electrification of fluid power, and we will continue to deliver advancements in hydraulics for our commercial OEM partners,” he added.
