Volvo has unveiled updated versions of its medium-duty FL and FE electric truck range, which now feature a series of changes to boost overall performance.

AC charging capacity has been almost doubled to 43 kW, cutting the time needed to recharge by about 50%. In addition, updated battery packs can deliver a maximum range of up to 450 km on a single charge.

The trucks have also benefited from a series of new safety upgrades. With these new features, the models are said exceed the General Safety Regulations which are due to come into effect in 2024.

Electric versions of the FL and FE also offer a new electric power take-off interface which allows bodybuilding without an electric-mechanical motor.

Other additions include new exterior mirrors and an optional 360-degree bird’s eye camera view to improve driver vision of surroundings.

Also offered are vulnerable road user detection, side collision avoidance and driver alert support.
