Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc., a Textron Inc. company, has added street-legal vehicles to the Cushman lineup with the launch of the Tour LSV and Hauler PRO LSV. Both vehicles adhere to the FMVSS 500 federal standard and the SAE J2358 industry standard, and can be operated on roads with speed limits up to 35 mph in most jurisdictions.

The new vehicles are powered by the zero-maintenance Samsung SDI lithium battery technology used across the Cushman ELiTE series of vehicles, the company said, providing consistent power and performance regardless of the battery’s level of charge. In addition, the vehicles recharge in half the time of vehicles powered by lead-acid batteries, Textron said.

The Tour LSV personnel transport vehicle offers four forward-facing seats, and meets higher safety standards than traditional personnel transport vehicles, Textron noted. Rated 11.7 hp (8.7 kW) peak and 4.4 hp (3.3 kW) continuous, it has a vehicle load capacity of 800 lb. and a towing capacity of 500 lb.

The two-person Hauler PRO LSV brings additional safety standards to the Hauler PRO for street-legal application, plus comes with a 15-cu.-ft. aluminum cargo bed. It is rated 14.9 hp (11.1 kW) and has a vehicle load capacity of 1200 lb., a towing capacity of 500 lb. and bed load capacity of 800 lb.

Both vehicles come with DOT-certified seatbelts, a rearview mirror with integrated backup camera display, side mirrors, an operator protective structure and a pedestrian warning system. An automatic parking brake is also standard.

The new models are available for order from local dealers.
