Wolter Group To Distribute Tropos Electric Vehicles

26 June 2019

Midwest equipment distributor Wolter Group LLC announced a partnership with Silicon Valley-based Tropos Motors to sell and service its Able lineup of electric compact utility vehicles (eCUVs).

The Wolter Group, through its dealer network, will serve as the Midwest distributor for Tropos Motors eCUVs. The company will assemble the vehicles in Brookfield, Wis., and will target the street-legal vehicle to businesses, universities and municipalities.

“The unified family of companies making up the Wolter Group is easily recognizable for their collective strength and rich history,” said John Bautista, CEO, Tropos Motors. “This partnership gives us access to a very large market that can benefit from the capability and versatility of our Able platform.”

Wolter Group consists of Wisconsin Lift Truck Corp., Illinois Material Handling, Wolter Power Systems, Fleet Services and Ellis Systems. It recently announced it had added Kensar Equipment Co. of Indianapolis to the fold, as well. Through these businesses, Wolter Group handles forklifts, aerial lifts, industrial utility vehicles, industrial engines and generators.

“By transitioning fleets from gasoline and diesel to electric vehicles, fleet managers reduce emissions, maintenance expenses, fuel expenses and overall achieve a lower total cost of ownership,” said Jerry Weidmann, president, Wolter Group. “Additionally, often there are local and state incentives available to further offset the EV cost savings compared to internal combustion vehicles.”
