Yanmar expands V-series compact wheeled loader range

Yanmar Compact Equipment in North America has expanded its range of compact wheeled loaders, with the introduced of a new model in the 4-tonne class.

With an operating weight of 4.2 t (9,370 lb), the V7 compact wheeled loader fills the gap between the manufacturer’s V4-7 machine, which at 3.8 t (8,400 lb) is its smallest CTL, and the 4.9-t (10,800 lb) V8 model.

The V7 is a Tier 4 Final machine designed for general construction, demolition and recycling site tasks. It is fitted with a 35.5 kW (47.6 hp) Yanmar diesel engine that allows for a lifting capacity of 7,981 lb.-ft. and enables a top travel speed of 18.6 mph.

“The new model is built with the operator in mind,” said Yanmar. “It features a comfortable cab and excellent all-around visibility, making long workdays easier.

“The enclosed cab configuration features two steel frame doors and a standard front sun blind to reduce glare.

“Operators will enjoy the extra visibility provided by the steel frame doors as well as the convenience and extra ventilation that comes from having doors on both sides of the cab.”

As well a high-backed heated seat, the V7’s cab also features ergonomic joystick controls that enable simple machine operation. Creep mode allows for precise attachment control while Automatic Ride Control with limited-slip differential adds convenience and efficiency. Operators can readily access relevant machine information and options via the color display.

The compact wheeled loader comes with a 0.92 cubic yard bucket capacity as standard, which the manufacturer says means “fewer trips to the pile”.

It also offers ±40 degrees of articulation and ±10 degrees of oscillation, thanks to the introduction of a newly designed articulation oscillation joint, which also serves to maximise ground contact with all four wheels “for optimal tractive force”.  It further enables the wheeled loader to achieve a 98.4-inch height and a “an even lower centre of gravity,” meaning less risk of clearance issues”, said Yanmar.

Highly suitable for the construction equipment rental market, the low weight and low clearance height of the loader not only increase manoeuvrability on tight jobsites, but also make it easier to transport model, with it being able to fit inside shipping containers.
